Enjoy Exquisite Steaks at Naha’s Historic “Jack’s Steak House”!

Japan

Here’s an introduction to “Jack’s Steak House,” a historic restaurant that’s a must-visit during your trip to Okinawa, offering delicious steaks at affordable prices. Stemming from the influence of the American occupation era, Okinawan steaks are known for their relatively reasonable cost, making them beloved not only by tourists but also by locals as an everyday treat. Established in 1953, this restaurant is recognized as a classic example of Okinawa’s B-grade gourmet scene.

Nostalgic Showa-Style Exterior

The exterior of the restaurant evokes a nostalgic Showa-era vibe. Nestled in a residential area, it’s easy to spot thanks to the large “Jack’s Steak House” sign at the entrance. The striking red-and-white contrast of the building stands out and exudes a sense of history and charm.

Interior with an American Vibe

Step inside, and you’ll find a retro space reminiscent of an American diner. The walls are lined with menus and posters, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere. Locals and tourists mingle here, giving the place a welcoming and homey feel.

Ordered the “Tenderloin Steak”

From the menu, I chose the restaurant’s signature “Tenderloin Steak” (200g), cooked rare.

The moment the steak was brought to the table, the sizzling sound from the hot plate and the savory aroma instantly stimulated my appetite. The meat was tender, juicy, and bursting with its natural flavor. It paired perfectly with the accompanying garlic rice and salad.

Seasonings for the steak—they’re also available for purchase to take home, of course.

Reasonable Prices

One of the appealing features of Jack’s Steak House is its pricing. Even a 200g steak can be enjoyed for around 2000 yen, making it quite affordable.

Another popular menu item at Jack’s Steak House is “Taco Rice.” It features a bed of rice topped with special taco meat, plenty of lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese.
